We love Bellingham Castle. I mean, just look at it. When you think of a romantic Irish castle wedding, it is exactly what comes to mind.

The sweeping driveway, the ivy covered stone walls, the water features, the gardens and hidden corners that seem made for quiet moments together. Then there is the fact that it is an exclusive use wedding venue, meaning from the moment you arrive, the entire place belongs to you and your guests. It creates such a relaxed atmosphere and makes the whole day feel incredibly personal.

And we cannot talk about Bellingham Castle without mentioning the resident Irish Wolfhounds. They are basically celebrities at this point and somehow make an already beautiful venue feel even more magical.

As Irish wedding photographer and videographers, Bellingham Castle is one of those venues we never get tired of returning to. The grounds are stunning in every season, there is beautiful light throughout the day, and it has that rare ability to feel grand and intimate at the same time. Whether you are planning a luxury castle wedding, a romantic Irish destination wedding, or an elegant celebration surrounded by family and friends, it is easy to see why so many couples fall in love with this place.

So, to show it off a little, we thought we would share Tiernach and Lee’s wedding there.

Their story started on a camping trip with mutual friends. They spent the summer of 2017 as friends before Lee headed off to China for two months. Despite being on the other side of the world, they spoke every day. By the time he came home, something had shifted. Their relationship blossomed naturally from there and they have been inseparable ever since.

One of our favourite questions during our pre wedding chats is asking couples to describe their hopes for the wedding day in five words. It tells us so much about what matters most to them and helps us capture the moments that mean the most.

Tiernach and Lee answered with: “Intimate, family, love, joy and classic.”

Honestly, those five words could not have described their wedding more perfectly.

It was a day full of genuine emotion and the kind of quiet moments that often end up meaning the most. Hugs that lasted a little longer, proud smiles from family members, bursts of laughter from old friends and two people who looked completely at ease in each other’s company.

There was joy everywhere you looked, but never anything forced. Just a beautifully classic celebration centred around the people they love most.
