We’re so excited to share some sneak peeks from Rachel and Christy’s beautiful Cabra Castle wedding. As wedding photographers and videographers covering Northern Ireland and Ireland, we’re lucky enough to work at some incredible venues, and Cabra Castle is always one that feels truly special. From its grand stone architecture and sweeping grounds to its warm interiors, it’s the perfect setting for couples dreaming of a romantic Irish castle wedding.
Rachel and Christy’s story started long before either of them imagined planning a wedding. They first met around the age of 19 through mutual friends before becoming close during university. Somewhere between lectures, late-night chats and shared memories, friendship quietly turned into something much more.
When Christy finally worked up the courage to ask Rachel on their first date, he remembered something she’d mentioned years before—that her favourite food was pizza. So naturally, he took her to Pizza Punks. It’s such a simple detail, but it’s one of those stories we love. It reminds us that love often grows through the little moments when someone was paying attention all along.
From the very beginning, they wanted their Cabra Castle wedding to be centred around the people who had shaped their journey together. Family who had celebrated every milestone, lifelong friends who had been there through every chapter, and plenty of time to simply enjoy being surrounded by everyone they love.
The day itself was joyful, relaxed and full of laughter. There was no rush—just genuine moments, happy tears, big hugs and lots of time spent enjoying everything this stunning castle venue has to offer. We wandered through the beautiful gardens and historic grounds for portraits before heading back inside to celebrate with speeches, great food and a packed dance floor.
As wedding photographers and videographers, these are the days we love most. A beautiful venue certainly helps, but it’s the people, the stories and the atmosphere that make a wedding unforgettable. Rachel and Christy’s day was filled with all three, and it was such a privilege to capture every moment.
If you’re planning your own Cabra Castle wedding or looking for a Cabra Castle wedding photographer and videographer, we’d love to hear your plans and help tell your story.
